This Volcano is a stratovolcano. It is located at 1° S, 100.7° E. This volcano has erupted 8 times. The lava in this volcano consists of Andesite and Basaltic Andesite. When mount Talang erupts it is an explosive eruption. Mount Talang's Impact on economy: The ash and lava from the volcano kills crops and can cause famine. Businesses can lose money from this, but lava can create fertile soil, causing more plants and crops to grow, which can cause businesses to grow and get more income. Mount Talang's impact on culture: Muslims live in Indonesia and worship volcanoes. If a volcano erupts it can create a religious disaster. Art is influenced by volcanoes because it provides something for artists to be inspired by. Also there are legends pasted down from people about volcanoes. These are folk stories. Mount Talang's Impact on infrastructure: When the volcano erupts it covers cities with ash and gas. The cities must protect them selfs. One way a city can protect itself is by using a VDAP system. This will help monitor the volcano and protect the cities when the VDAP system can predict that the volcano is going to erupt. A VDAP is made up of equitment and a team of researchers, to help control the volcanoes. |
